There ain’t many artists who were closer to James Yancey a.k.a. Jay Dee than Frank Nitt and Dankery Harv, better known as Frank n Dank. At their latest Europe tour they talked with us about the impact the financial crisis had on Detroit City, their various setbacks in the music industry and their first tentative steps in the Hip-Hop-scene. The gorgeous anecdotes about the legendary Detroit Hip-Hop Shop, where all artists gathered around the figure heads Proof and J. Dilla mark the highlight of the interview.

  3. that’s real shit. i liked this one. i liked the fact that it wasn’t dilla heavy, but when they did speak on him, you could see the love and see the impact of his loss still hitting strong…
