Shit… so do I!! Anyways, in the clip above Ash talks about his love for hip hop, how Jay-Z’s Hard Knock Life introduced him to it and more. I really respect the honesty he portrays. There’s far too many people out there that fake the funk when it comes to their knowledge of hip hop or when they actually got into it. I know folks that go an say Atmosphere’s best record is Overcast! when everyone knows its not. But the elitest in them wants to say “oh I been fuckin with them forever, etc” Or the types that are scared to admit their first introduction to hip hop was a Three 6 Mafia record. Who the fuck cares? Not everyone was around when the BDKs and Rakims were rocking the stages on the daily. Shit, I wasn’t. But I (like Asher) went back and learned about the artform and I respect it for what it is. Boom.
In the last segment o Lunch w/ Joe Budden & Tahiry, Tahiry talks about her secret tattoo while Joe reveals their wedding plans. Ol girl also talks about being in magazines (ya’ll ready for her KING magazine spread!?), interviewing with Angela Yee and all the attention she’s been getting.
I won’t say anything about the situation she’s going through despite the blatant song title inviting me to do so, because now it’s just boring to talk about it.
The goonsquad over at BET chop it up with the Slaughterhouse crew for a nice insightful discussion. Above the crew talks about the 4 Horsemen (Kurupt x Killah Priest x Canibus x Ras Kass), the truth behind the Joe Budden & Royce beef and if they will drop on a major label. Hit the jump for some more clips. Including Crooked I talked about what drew him into the group, taking a loss (lyrically) to each other and having to dumb it down when rhyming with other artists. The diva of the crew is revealed, Royce discusses why egos will play a major part in the rise (or fall) of the group and Joell Ortiz gets upset over a Saigon question.
Episode 12 is here folks. The Domestic Violence Edition. In the wake of the Chris Brown x Rihanna scandal, Phonte explains how domestic violence happens in the home and what women and men can do to prevent it.
Pretty fresh interview between Jumpoff and Jessie Maguire. Joey talks about being excited that his album leaked, if he’d ever do a record with Saigon, the personalities of the other members of Slaughterhouse, the success of JoeBuddenTV & Tahiry’s popularity, the allegations of taking $2000 for a verse and not delivering, a possible mixtape with Big Mike and the future of the Mood Muzik series. Padded Room is in stores now!
I heard this a few days over at DefSounds but I was too lazy to rip the audio and figured it would get to me somehow. Sure enough, NMC represents as eskay just threw it up with an assist from DJ Delz. This instrumental seems to bring the realness out of most folks, Hood lets it be known. I can respect this.
