I don’t listen to Wayne. I stopped after Carter II. I’m just asking, what brings people to like this subset of hip hop so much? I understand some of these people write about good things as well, but selling drugs? Killing people? Money? Is that the only motivation? Why is it that intelligent men only talk about money, as if it is the only thing that matters?
This is why I like hip hop artists who talk about cleaning up mistakes of the past and generally making the world a better place. Please explain why you like “gangsta” music?

Does anyone agree with me that all this rhyming about selling drugs and murders and shit is getting old? It just isn’t hip hop, it’s that generic “gangsta” shit that the media always portrays to make others see our genre as inferior.
