Loud Favorites With Jay Rock (Video)

Jay Rock stopped thru the building a while back and with the upcoming release of his mixtape with DJ Noodles, we wanted to drop his Favorites.  We’ve got some more coming from him next week, including him speaking on Martin Louie The King Jr. and Xzibit.

In the first segment, he drops some bars from his joint with Lil Wayne and his first single off the “Coming Soon To A Hood Near You.”  He also talks about a fashion company he’s working with and how he never really intended on pursuing rap as a career.  Part II finds him talking in-depth about how gang culture has influenced his life, the video for “Blood Walk,” and an assortment of questions I had about Bloods vs. Crips.

In the second part he goes in on the whole “luck = opportunity + readiness” theory and explains pretty much every question I wanted to know about gangs.

Check out part two under the cut. And also check out DX for an exclusive interview as well.

  1. That All My Life track with Weezy is fucking banging.

  2. Real good interview with some good questions & answers! And that is so sad in a way but true about a lot of people wanting to be in gangs as a fashion statement! Jay Rock one of the best newcomers out the West to been waiting on his album for a couple years so I can’t wait for it to finally drop this summer! Hopefully that new mixtape he dropping next week will hold me over till then!
