I was looking into moving to NYC…and I couldn’t do it just because of the cost of living. I live in a 3-bedroom/2-bath HUGE house in Kansas and only pay $700. I could barely live in a PROJECT BUILDING and pay $700 in NY. LOL

Yeah, LOL. Shit is ridiculous. I got mad peoples in Jersey. Neptune, Orange, Jersey City, etc. And I went to one of the hoods there to see some family and they were living in a ONE BEDROOM apartment for $1000 a month. That’s the day I decided. LOL
lol see it all depends, me and moms live in brooklyn in a 5 room + 1 bath for about 13-14 years and she only pays 1100 tops so it all depends and we live in a pretty good location, 7 blocks away from the hood though -_- lol
my aunt just moved out into a 3 bed 1 bath in the city near harlem for 1200, times are hard lol

I get what duke is saying. I make 50K and I couldn’t think about living in the City. BK and Queens for me until I upgrade my income.
It typically depend on where you live/but Duke has a valid point your barely making it scraping up 50,000k a year. That’s the same here where i live in the bay area. Your living, but your not making enough in the ecnomony were living in today.

You need a least 1-2 roommates you roughly make as much as you do to afford a decent apartment in a good neighbor hood. Cause 33k alone, you can’t move to Manhattan New York, that’s like a dude in the Bay Area trying to move to San Francisco. That not happening, ppl need to learn how to be realistic. There’s ppl out here making over 100k just last year 08 cutting cost. That says it all.
I been living in NYC my whole life and grew up in the city & what he saying is right you need atleast 75k-100k to live comfortable unless you live with your moms , section 8 , the projects or a Rent stabalized Apt you need good money to live out here.Shht it cost me atleast 600 month just to eat.
