Killer Mike stops by Fat Beats NY to show you exactly how to open a record (in this case the dopest album of the year). Dude’s hilarious, straight up. I looked at her ass first and this my own child. Ha! I do have to say though… the internet did kill the joy I used to get when I would get home and and unwrap a brand new tape/cd and pop it in the player for the first time. Don’t get me wrong, I still purchase albums but it’s not the same. Shouts to DJ Sav*one for the heads up on the video. And if you haven’t already done so… cop Killer Mike’s I Pledge Allegiance To The Grind II now!
Video

the internet has definitely ruined this feeling..haha
How did I miss this dude being @ Fat Beats?
Anyway… I got my copy.. what he didn’t say was downloaders can’t bootleg this experience. EVER*
Damn man that was hilarious and Mike is right on point with missing that feeling of opening a new CD, sigh…
He should turn this into a series of tutorials for basic tasks. “Killer Mike Shows You How to Make Pasta.” or “Killer Mike Shows You How to Install Ubuntu.” Shit’d be hilarious if he kept it like this vid.
she want that old thing back, she want those herroin tracks (c) jay-z.
what’s the song in the background?
They had CD’s in ’94?
I was still on cassette
Yo I met dude a few weeks ago in ATL, Killer Mike is the truth, told me he’s got 2 albums comin this year, one digital only (and probably free) and one with physical release too.
what’s the song in the background?
that’s “Can You Hear Me” from I Pledge Allegiance To the Grind 2…
uh, that cd looked nothing like a “record” and i watched this thinking he actually had some vinyl. i would feel somewhat cheated if he didn’t speak the truth on the experience of handling a physical copy. i have yet to download a full cd from itunes. i HAVE to have the physical copy…
Yup I remember opening the cd up and going straight for the production credits. That was when music was still exciting. Back in 96-99…ahhh memories.
This shit is classic hah! mega shouts to DJ Sav*One I see Sav at every even in nyc
I don’t think Killer Mike does anything half assed. This video is hilarious. He’s dead on point too. The album art on “I pledge allegiance to the grind II” is dope and the album is easily the album of the year.
I still think breaking open an actual record was better. Then the feeling of dropping the needle on the groove. Slammin.
