  1. Haha, nobody I bring that shit up to ever remembers that. Back when he was first showing up on Clue tapes I remember that shit. In reality he looks like a Sheed Kenyon Martin hybrid to me.

  2. I love Buddens but I always say that he’s ego tends to be too big at times. Much to his credit at least he’s an aggressive artist. However, sometimes less is more and more is less. A lot of times Joe Budden does too many bars in a song and the hook isn’t as polished. Other times he does have long verses that are hot songs.

Some rappers need to know that if you have a lot to say and a short of a time to say it, that right there should be your motivation to find a way to summarize 48 bars of feelings or 100bars into 16 or 18!

It’s hard but it’s possible and when it does happens in music people are blown away by quality and content in just your 16 bars or so. I think Joell Ortiz wants to make it a song with soul and not verses with soul! Both talent cats at the end of the day. Joe Buddens need to learn to be flexible with song formats. 16′s suck but not everyone is patient enough to listen for past 18 bars even the songs they like.

  3. The end product was nice and both these dudes are capable of holding attention with longer verses. I despise 16′s and honestly have no need for hooks most of the time, I want to hear rhyming, but I also understand that that type of format is not for everyone.

  4. I just want to point out that a minute and 90 seconds is really 2:30

  6. lol @ Trilogy…He got his movie shit on…instead of saying an hour and a half, say 90 minutes.

Both guys have points, but I think Ortiz’ point is being lost on Joey…

  7. hahaha they stopped b4 he got to 12

  8. “We will move this!” Nigga Budden is a motivational speaker an shit.

  9. Learn to paraphrase/ summarize what(s) you write down/ in your mind. That’s the nature of music, there’s only so much you can say in that small frame of time.

Joell and Joe both made valid points. The bottom line is that making music is like painting on a canvass. And at the end of the day it has to touch/ move ppl; in which they’re doing.

  10. the beginning of the end for slaughterhouse. i hope i ain’t jinx it. this is some great footage though u see the creative difference and internal conflicts. i wish more artists were this open

  11. joe is right, em and jay moved renegade
and personally i want to hear more than 16 bars
the fans they have want more than 16, the mainstream want 16 cause the people who listen to the mainstream cant hold there attention that long
and you know when people disagree you get the best product cause you dont got a bunch of yes men
