… Santo Gold, Charles Hamilton, The Cool Kids, Pac Div and Talib Kweli. A bit of a change from the Top 3 Rappers he listed off earlier. Again I have to ask… what’s the consensus of the dopeboyz/girlz on this? Blu defintely needs to be put in that list. I’d probably go… Blu, TiRon and Torae or something like that. I can’t say too much, don’t wanna hurt too many folks feelings hahahaha.

Ya Boy has to be on that list.
Needs more Wale.
Crooked I (dude straight killed the slaughterhouse joints), Elzhi(best lyrical display on an album this year) and Phonte (always consistent). Blu and Pac Div are real close behind.
crooked i is in talib kweli’s top 5
crooked i too, shit. yea i cant make no list that would be concrete.
pac div, wale, uni.
Oh shake. Do u know or know of Paul silva?
Brother Ali is too often overlooked. In all honesty, The Undisputed Truth was as close to a perfect album as anything has been in the past 5 or so years.
Rounding out my list would be Blu, Elzhi, Lupe (Assuming he counts as an artist of “now”), and either Phonte or Jay Electronica. Wale gets honorable mention.
Best producers right now: Black Milk, Jake One, and Sabzi (of Blue Scholars/Common Market).
FUCK … brother ali too.
yea… impossible for the shake haha
we’re talking artists of “now” right? not new artists, cause kweli is in his tip’s list. if so mine goes
kanye, murs, cool kids
he tryin to appeal to what’s topical/”hot” in the here and now so fans of those cats might think about buyin his album. i mean, you really think qtip is rollin around in his benz jammin’ some of this stuff? you shoulda seen him fumblin’ Kid Cudi’s city/name at his release/election party the other night. on some rap shit, cats like blu, torae, zhi are more in line of where he’s coming from musical/hip hop wise and we all know that. he just trying to appeal. i mean, i remember the day he night he met jay electronica at ali shaheed’s birthday last year out front of tillman’s (and just blaze first met ali for that matter) and he was tellin’ jay how dope his shit is. you know what it is, he ain’t at home jammin’ the cool kids or the sonic the hedgehog tapes let’s be real lol
fwmj, he’s on tour with the cool kids right now..
blu,pac div,u-n-i,fashawn..west coast coimng stong..skyzoo,lupe fiasco,torae…so many more
Funk D, tell me something I don’t know lol.
Wale, Cool Kids, Blu, U-N-I, everyone on Slaughterhouse (no mention of these guys? lol), Termanology, and probably some people I’m forgetting. I’ve heard so much about Brother Ali, but haven’t heard a track by him. I think I’ll need to check him out.
ROCK CITY, K. Sparks! And I think there’s still some I’m forgetting, lol.
Why does Kardi not fit back in either of these lists? Damn, lol.
Lupe Fiasco
Crooked I
Zion I
‘nough said.
Phonte, Lupe, Brother Ali… theres alot of dudes man.
Kanye, Lupe, The Cool Kids.
Couple Aussie acts that I”m enjoying heaps too, Bliss n Eso, Tzu.
My top 5 as of right now gotta be:
Blu…
Wale…
Zion I…
Cory Gunz…
Cool Kids…
Close behind are Kid Cudi, Pac Div, Royce, Peedi Crakk, Black Milk(yes as an MC)… And much MUCH more…
surprised and confused at the cool kids love….yea they’re different but it seems like a gimmick, but thats me……my list is lupe, ortiz & budden, phonte, wale, pro verb….i know its more than three but fuck it…
charles hamilton im beginning to fuck with, that somic mixtape was hot imo
santogold is def dope, when it comes to hip hop … gotta be cool kids, kid cudi, wale, charles hamilton, and zion I …those dudes are really making a name for themselves… q mentioned talib kweli…him and common, kanye, lupe will always be relevant
wale, wale and wale?
no but seriously after wale throw in the cool kids and lupe fiasco even though i’m pissed he couldnt have thrown one of those three disks our way here in ’08.

I’m fuckin wit Wale right now (pause/no homo/w.e.), Charles Hamilton is at the top of my list but I feel like you really have to actually like read his blog and know wtf he’s talking about with the Sonic philosophies and all that to really get a lot of his songs.. Common, Lupe, Kanye, Crooked I, and Blu are also up there..
Now On, TiRon, Blu
