I have to agree w/ Lupe’s comments. I my self wasn’t moved over the speech but more over the momment! But when I saw Jesse crying and opera crying that’s what got me, because you felt those tears and where they came from and why they are falling. To reach this point after all these years is beyond amazing!

Lupe was 1000% correct! We wanted to see a little bit of emotion just a tad because this is extremely historic!! There were 43 presidents before him who were not black! Black people couldn’t vote among other normal rights etc. etc. So it IS big. I expected him to be professional but show some small emotion. The PAIN that so many people went through now and then both black/white/hispanic/asian went through for him to be president. I wasn’t moved at all by his speech I was just appreciative of the accomplishment.
2ndly who cares if Jesse Jackson didn’t have the same mssg as Martin Luther King or Malcom X! That’s not the point. He was in that same struggle. He was among the movement with one of the front runners for change along side MLK and shared some values that Malcolm X did! So he singlehandedly is a representation of that era for change. He probably never thought he’d be alive to see what happened on Nov. 4th ’08. Cut Jesse Jackson some slack. Gees!!!
