I’ve been a big fan since the beginning. I may Jay Elect in New Orleans in early 2007. We have a mutual friend that introduced us and later we worked in the studio together. We (me and some young N.O. producers) played him tracks and he played us some tracks (over Madlib, Dilla, and Mr. Porter beats). He rapped over one of my tracks. Unfortunately we have lost contact in the past year and understandably so. With the Nas album and their growing relationship, his undeniable buzz on the Net, Rock the Bells Tour, and his upcoming solo disc- I’m glad to just have the oppurtunity to have met him. He was an incredibly well spoken, thoughtful, and humble dude. It was hard not to like him. We all smoked together and watched Children of Men (on a killer Bootleg). Shout out to 2dopeboyz for a great blog.
