Last time around, NY Oil spoke his mind on the whole Ice-T/Soulja Boy fuckery. Now in part 4 of the Inside the Mind webisode series, he takes aim at Al “Extortion King” Sharpton; fires off on Nas, for having a half-baked rationale behind his former album title. And speaks about the black communities limp response in the wake of the Sean Bell verdict. What are peoples thoughts? Is NY Oil on point or do you feel he gets to preachy? It’s on you dopeboyz and dopegirlz!

  1. Im with him 100%. Point blank Al is the extortion king. Nas did fuck up with his explanation of the now “untitled” album. As a result people lost interest until the leaked music started to come out. Young blacks & old blacks are disconnected.

  2. NY OIl to me just wants to talk and get shine as well. If Nas does miss with his explanation of such a topic as a Nigger album give another perspective to the situation. I don’t think that people miss the connection with the Civil Rights era I think they missed the importance that their work during those times were just the beginning to the fight and that we as the younger generation are suppose to continue that. And Al Sharpton… idk about him. I may have to write one of these college essays about him cause he’s a character.

  3. he seems to ride nas hard…tell that nigga to kick rocks…
No comment on the al thing…
only thing he is str8 on point with is the sean bell thing.

  4. He brings Nas up out of nowhere. I like NYOIL but IMO he seems to be jealous that a artist of Nas’ caliber ran with a topic in which he has made his career off of. NYOIL is all about controversey, I only know about him because of his banned YOUTUBE video. He probably made Nas aint holler at him for a feature on the album. How did Nas not explain his reasoning well, can someone give me a link/video or something???

Aw yeah, co-sign what he said about Sharpton and the lack of a connection to the civil rights era, that’s real talk!

  5. He on some crabs in a bucket shit with nas. I watched a video a few months ago when he was shitting on nas for making the nigger album. How are you gonna knock another cat who’s spittin black awareness content which is the same thing you rap about? I think that NYOIL is missing the point with nas’ nigger concept…. Nas is putting out a socially charged album and NYOIL should be the last nigga to be talking greasy about Nas. The nigga just sound bitter but I digress.

  6. I can’t say he’s bitter but more frustrated. He’s just calling for more responsibility from Nas. When did Nas announce Nigger? In the middle of all the controversy. Maybe the idea came to him but I liken that it could push numbers and he could spit hot shit to it. Hearing the album I was quite disappointed due to what it could have been if he wasn’t censored. It’s like when 50 criticized Nas for not taking full potential of his power that he had, that’s all NY OIL is stating while emphasizing his point that Nas’s album is missing the connect because he was never properly “educated” on the civil rights era.

I agree with his perspective on Sharpton.

  7. I mean i do gotta say Nas changing the name of his album for ANY reason is a little dumb! But I mean damn NYOIL needs to back the fuck off! Fact still remains that Nas is one of the REALEST MC’s ever! point blank! You mix that with his commercial success and of course your going to have people hatin on you!

NYOIL you a dawg bro….but how bout instead of starting shit with other rappers….you actually speak out about important stuff!!

  8. Any time I see NYOil’s name he has someone elses name in his mouth… ain’t even gonna watch hot garbo, movin on… get a new gig or keep ta spittin cuz he ain’t half bad. But this is wasteland IMO unless he wants to be a part of a solution and not reiterate problems, and keep others name in his mouth constantly. Rap’s Al Sharpton…

  9. points

nas was going to put out a nigger album before hip hop is dead so what are u talking about…get your facts str8…

NYoil needs to kick rocks and fall back nas will eat his food but NYoil aint nobody so nas will not answer to this fool.
