AC – Crack Distributors Radio Interview (Video)

[vimeo 1091338]

The Staten Island emcee talks to Crack Distributors about his new videos for New Soul and Trapped on the Island: the Flashing Lights Prequel. He also discusses his new projects and the importance of original material in hip hop and much much more.

Jadakiss – From Now Till Then (DJ Premier Mix)

Nothing crazy new here. Alchemist still on the beat, although Premo adds his magic touch to the scratches. Shouts to Dan. Always coming through with the hotness.

Mic Terror – Detention (Mazzi Diss)

*yawns*

Mazzi’s phone call intro > this entire track. Props to FakeShoreDrive for this one. SHAKE EDIT: Unlike my apathetic partner, I dig the Public Enemy choice (10x better than that cracktastic choice of Lean Back*). And Mic actually comes off better than his last effort. I look forward to Mazzi’s response. I do agree with the phone call intro. That was on some classic Linda Tripp shit. Don’t know about that? I might have to upload the battle.

*I don’t say crack in a good way. I’m not down with that movement.

Meka’s Soul Mix Show: Basketball With The Moon

Seems like me and Burnett are on the same page with this one.

Lupe Fiasco – I Keep It Gutter Like f. Stack Bundles (Unreleased)

Andrew aka Mr. Fake Shore Drive aka I Got the Chi on Lock has been dropping gems left and right! I suggest you check FSD out from time to time as he has his hands on an unreleased Go Getters project which is a group that consisted of pre-wreck Kanye West, GLC & Really Doe and will be dropping them track by track as time goes by. On top of that he just dropped this unreleased Lupe Fiasco/Stack Bundles (R.I.P) joint.

Nas’ New Album Artwork?

So OcTo (the unnoficial dopeboy at large) hit me with an link to this. Now that Nas isn’t running with Nigger as the title, the previous artwork that was spread across the internets shouldn’t be used. This right here is the supposed new artwork. Waiting on complete confirmation but it def fits the subject matter (that I’m hoping will be on the album). What ya’ll think? UPDATE: For whatever reason some people are not seeing this so you can download here.

Jay-Z’s Corporate Takeover

Corporate Takeover Magazine just put up an article on Jay-Z’s S. Carter Enterprises that I suggest you check it out. It’s definitely worth the read. Click the above pic for a larger scaled one. “What you call ballin’ I pay more in taxes”

Looking towards the future, Carter’s current portfolio of business interests—which include the New Jersey Nets, 40/40 Club, beauty care line Carol’s Daughter, J hotels, Scion, LLC., and Translation Advertising—all seem to transcend the youth-driven hip-hop market. And that is to say, it’s unlikely the services provided by a firm like Translation Advertising are intended for fickle young hip-hop fans. By cashing in on the Jay-Z inc. franchise, Carter looks to make the transition from hip-hop star to a business celebrity, much like Rupert Murdoch, Donald Trump, Warren Buffet, and Magic Johnson.

Chino XL – I’m Coming (prod. DJ Khalil)

Now this is what I’m talking about. Some new Chino XL for the listening pleasure! And to top this gem off with a nice little cherry, it’s produced by DJ Khalil. Dope’ness all around. And to all the 2pac hippies out there who refuse to give Chino some love just because of their beef, grow up and listen to some real hip hop. Dude’s been a monster for a long time. His punchline game trumps a lot of your favorite emcees’. Enjoy!
