Nas’ New Album Artwork?

So OcTo (the unnoficial dopeboy at large) hit me with an link to this. Now that Nas isn’t running with Nigger as the title, the previous artwork that was spread across the internets shouldn’t be used. This right here is the supposed new artwork. Waiting on complete confirmation but it def fits the subject matter (that I’m hoping will be on the album). What ya’ll think? UPDATE: For whatever reason some people are not seeing this so you can download here.

  39. really?
and why isnt this being seen as the equivalent to when kane got on that madonna silky shirt shit or when melle mel starting dressing in leather bondage gear with spikes n’shit?
some of these old folks are losing it
i say that cause i respect him too much for this bullshit to fly
some saying its a dope concept
for me this is the worst type of career killer
rakim bounced for 5 good years after “don’t sweat the technique” and it made 18th letter that much more raw…

really, with the approaching times and great chance some of us now have to shed new light on hip hop, this comes off real rev wright’ish

theres gotta be a healthier and more creative way to address the issues (beat on a diesel ass horse thats never gonna die)

  40. airtight this cover went over your head if you comparing it to melly mel in bondage or kane in a silky shirt.

  41. air is over your head.
my statement is about more than the cover.
it’s about the whole idea, and music i’ve heard so far.
    it’s tragic.

  42. NAS IS STILL #one
    DA ILLMATIC
    DA GOD’s SON
    IZ Back !

    peace yall

  43. This guy is buggin out

  44. This is creative yet it also disturbs me.

  46. The message in the artwork: Since the white people in charge won’t let Nas call his album Nigger, he drops an album cover depicting his back covered with scars from a slave master’s whip – illustrating his relationship with the label execs.

Do y’all see the same thing?

Will the record execs approve of this one? Or will Nas have to change the title to “Happy African American”?

  47. Word to da nigga dat said dat Denzel shit. I think everybody think dat when dey see dis.

  48. [...] It was going to be named “NIGGER”, but the official word on the new name is not out.  Here is the alleged cover art.  Taking from the classic Dr. Pepper commericial jingle and delivering one of the most socially [...]

  49. Is this really the guys cover for his new album, you have got to be kidding me? It appears as though he is trying to make it seem as he went through the same crap that Jesus went through in his life time. This guy is full of himself, he will never and has never been through a beatdown like Jesus did in his day. Yeah he may have struggled a bit and has had a bad life but nothing to compare to someone who is getting beat down with a whip. The guy who played Jesus in the movie passion of the christ was actually whipped by accident and said he couldn’t breath and it was the worst pain ever. Anyways guy is a ass hole and is full of himself

  50. ok so u dont listen to hip hop elliot. nas is a legend in hip hop one of the few (in my beliefs) of a real rap sense that is left in the geme. And for as the whipping its not to relate to jesus its for the relation of slavery of the black man in the past.
