This has nothing to do with music; rather it’s an article I read on protecting yourself from the common cold and flu. While I thought that four hours of sleep, the occasional game of Madden and Top Ramen would do the trick for me (boy was I wrong!), here are some other ways of protecting yourself during these cold winter months.
Continuing on in my actions to use this audience we have to spread real life situations I leave you with this. A close friend of mine in Reno (Nevada) hit me with an email in regards to a missing person report that has someone he sincerely wants found. Above is Brianna Zunino Denison (19 years old, 5″, 98lbs, Long Dark Brown Hair, Blue Eyes). She’s been missing since Jan.20. I trully hope things turn for the best and I ask that anyone seeing this can look over the flyer (full version) and if you can, post it elsewhere. The more places this is shown, the better chance she can be found. Hold your head up Element!
I admit I’m NO genius in this area, but I do know the jist of the whole situation and know SOMETHING has to be done. If I could think of more things to do I would (I did a flyer for an event on the crisis, but outside of that I’m unfulfilled in my actions). I was hit with an email from an emcee that goes by the name of Ankh Amen Ra. And he’s in the same boat … wanting to spread the awareness. He recorded this song with that in mind. His current mission is to get some support from the hip hop community to fly over to eastern Chad with a small video crew and shoot a guerilla style video at an actual refugee camp to try for some more awareness and an immediate call to action. Hit him on Myspace if you have any thoughts, etc.
Off to see Cloverfield. Anyone seen this? I was doubtful when I saw this wacked out drawing of the balooga whale looking monster that takes over NY, but I’ve heard nothing but good things about it. I just put up DeMarco’s review over at HipHopDX and he gave it a solid 4/5 so we’ll see…
EDIT: Just got back, dope film! Felt a bit nauseated after with the whole 1st person ordeal haha. But regardless, 2008 has been a good movie going year so far. First Juno (I highly recommend) now this? Very creative and intriguing way to do this. Definitely gets Shake’s “Stamp of Approval”.
Now I’ve been a fan of Shyheim. Matter of fact, I still have my a/k/a Rugged Child cassette somewhere. But it looks like Shy has some issues with Rae. I don’t know about this. Rae would smash Shy, both lyrically and physically.

So after posting the incredibly dope new eMC record with Little Brother. I get an email regarding this mixtape from the same producer (Quincey Tones). I’ve given it two spins so far and dude flipped the whole remix thing on a whole new level. Mixing Nas vocal’s with samples that we’re used on American Gangster and so on. Shit is real dope. Don’t sleep.
Yes! Murs for President people!! Shouts to Waxx for giving me the heads up. I would’ve posted it earlier. But you know, free wordpress blog = no myspace embeds haha. So I put it on d.motion so the fans can get right! This is off Murs’ upcoming major label debut, Murs for President. Get your vote on.
Meka first introduced me to these dudes when he posted their latest street album on the site [click here]. Be on the look out for their DXnext feature (done by Meka) over at the plantation. This is the video for the single. Enjoy!
